- Platinum Part 1: Phishing Training That Adapts

Anti-phishing training that adapts to each employee: meet Platinum Part 1
Platinum Part 1 is adaptive anti-phishing training: it opens with a four-minute knowledge test that maps each employee’s phishing skills, then builds their training around the gaps it finds. It is live now in a redesigned Phished Academy for every user who has completed the Gold Level. You don’t need to configure anything.
The problem
You know the pattern. Most security awareness training gives the finance team the same “how to spot a suspicious link” module as the developer who has reported a hundred phishing attempts. Experienced people click through and learn nothing. Beginners get lost and give up. Completion rates look fine; behaviour doesn’t change. And you are left explaining to the board why click rates have plateaued despite years of phishing awareness training.
Why we built anti-phishing training that adapts
We started from one principle: training someone on what they already know is wasted time, and wasted time is the fastest way to lose an employee’s attention.
So Platinum Part 1 begins with a test, not a lesson. Eight questions, roughly four minutes. Each question is built from the real email addresses and domains your organisation uses, so the person is judged on the mailbox they actually work in, not on a generic example from a vendor slide. Difficulty varies from question to question, which lets us see not just whether someone can spot phishing, but at what level they stop being able to.
The result decides two things for that person: which skill their training starts with, and how hard that training begins. Someone who reads sender domains flawlessly but never inspects attachments starts with attachments, at an advanced level. Someone new to all of it starts at the beginning. Nobody sits through content they have already mastered.
We also chose to focus Platinum Part 1 on the three skills that stop the most real-world phishing: reading a sender domain, inspecting a link, and judging an attachment. We deliberately did not add more topics. Depth on the skills that matter beats breadth on skills that rarely get exploited. Every answer gets immediate feedback, because feedback a week later is feedback nobody remembers.
Frequently asked questions
Does anti-phishing training actually work?
Yes, when it does two jobs at once. It has to teach the skills: reading a sender domain, inspecting a link, judging an attachment. And it has to train the reflex at the moment a real threat arrives. Platinum Part 1 does the first job, adapted to what each person already knows. The Phished Assistant does the second: when someone hesitates over an email or link, it isolates and analyses it and gives an answer before they act. Identical-for-everyone training that stops at the classroom is what research has shown not to reduce risk.
How does Platinum Part 1 fit with simulations and the Phished Assistant?
Simulations only train the people who fail them; reporting only trains those who are already sure. Platinum Part 1 raises everyone’s skill level, so fewer people are unsure in the first place. For the moment of doubt itself, the Phished Assistant gives guidance before the click. Together they cover the whole workforce, not just the few who fail a test.
Who gets Platinum Part 1?
Every user who has completed the Gold Level in Phished Academy. Users on earlier levels continue their current path.
Do I have to set anything up?
No. Enrolment follows your existing Academy settings. Eligible users receive an email invitation to start the knowledge test.
How long does the knowledge test take?
Eight questions, about four minutes. Every answer gets immediate feedback.
Does the test use real company data?
It uses your organisation’s own email addresses and domains to build realistic questions, so people are judged on the mailbox they actually work in.
