How Cloudwise is making hundreds of Dutch schools cyber-conscious with Phished

Cloudwise started as a digital learning platform for educational institutions, but in the meantime has emerged as an all-encompassing IT service provider that counts on Phished’s tools to take charge of the cybersecurity aspects.

"Digitisation and digital literacy pose additional challenges," says Jan Roctus, Account Manager at Cloudwise, "but schools are not always equipped to handle them. In fact, depending on the size of the school, the IT coordinator may also be teaching and have only a few hours a week to build out the infrastructure."

"Since we were getting more and more requests for cybersecurity as well, mainly to prepare people against cyber attacks, we started looking for a partner who could take that part off our hands. That's how we very quickly ended up with Phished."

Criminals have discovered that educational organisations are quite easy to hit - and they are often not alert to the dangers and huge impact.

Much-needed relief for IT professionals, teachers and school boards
Key component of a comprehensive Security Awareness solution
Creates awareness among employees for everything regarding cybersecurity

Unburdening

"Both for small schools, and for school groups, Phished is an excellent choice," says Roctus. "Criminals have discovered that educational organisations are quite easy to hit - and they are often not alert to the dangers and huge impact."

"As such, Phished is the right choice since the platform is fully automated. The AI trains everyone individually, without the IT department having to make adjustments. It provides them with leeway to solve problems elsewhere," Roctus notes.

One baseline, a hundred reasons for security awareness training

To convince clients, Cloudwise relies on Phished's baseline measurement. Roctus: "We agree with potential clients to conduct one single test. If no results come out of that, we promise never to speak of it again and just move on. But so far that has never happened!"

It forces organisations to face the facts: security awareness should never be a secondary result of the overall cybersecurity strategy. "And Phished takes care of that," says Roctus. "The personalised simulations, the training, the reporting... it all makes the topic come alive within the organisation in a much stronger way. People are more aware of the dangers as a result and know better what to do from then on."

What if even IT people are clicking?

"I often notice that Phished creates a certain peace of mind," Roctus states. "When time and again it turns out that even IT professionals are still regularly clicking on insecure links, it shows once again that we greatly overestimate the general level of security awareness. Phished then gives a certain reassurance that people will be much better prepared for real dangers." After all, without the necessary preparation, an organisation doesn't know how employees will react when hit by a cyber attack.

An all-in-one solution with Phished

Cloudwise came a long way in a short time from being a platform provider to becoming an ICT provider. In doing so, it relies on several partners, each using their respective expertise to support Cloudwise's clients in the education sector. This is how it creates a comprehensive solution, with Cloudwise counting on Phished to take care of security awareness - with great success.
